Meet General Zais – Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education

I feel like I’ve had a diverse career
but a career marked by service. I come from a family of educators. Of course, I
was a professor at West Point where I taught organizational behavior,
leadership, and management consulting. For 31 years I served my country working as a soldier, a paratrooper, and a ranger and retired as an Army Brigadier General. For ten years I served my faith, I was president of a faith-based College. And ran in one election and served the people of my state as their State
Superintendent of Education. In any instance, whether forced to choose
between supporting school students and supporting a school system, I will
invariably opt to support school students.
